Pastor Carl B. McPherson, Sr.

Pastor Carl B. McPherson Sr. was born in Fort Jackson, SC to the late Hensley and Gracie McPherson. He has five brothers and one sister. He was joined to Mrs. Jeanette B. McPherson in holy matrimony, and to this union of husband and wife was born three children: Carl Basil Jr., Chandra Carliss and Moneka LaTonya. On November 21, 2011, Mrs. Jeanette B. McPherson was called from labor to reward after thirty-three years and 6 months of marriage. Elder McPherson was once again joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Mavis McPherson, and she joins the family with three children, Kwanza, Jarrod and Kendra.

Elder McPherson served 30 years in the United States Army and retired as a Command Sergeant Major on July 1, 2004. He recently retired from the Federal Government after over 48 years of total service. Pastor McPherson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University.

Elder McPherson has served in many capacities of ministry to include Brotherhood President, Young People Willing Worker President and Teacher, and Sunday School Teacher. Elder McPherson served as a Deacon at the House of Prayer Church of God In Christ in Ansbach, Germany, and served as Pastor of Hawkins Chapel Church of God in Christ in Frederick, Oklahoma. He served as an Associate Minister at New Hope Church of God in Christ, Lawton, Oklahoma; True Saints Church of God in Christ, Bamberg, Germany; New Jerusalem Church of God in Chris, Schweinfurt, Germany; Camp Bondsteel Chapel Service, Kosovo; Word of Truth Church of God in Christ, Columbus, Georgia; The House of Prayer Church of God in Christ, El Paso, Texas; and Shiloh Church of God in Christ, Alexandria, Virginia. He has also served as the Warren G. Crudup, Sr. District Sunday School Superintendent.

Elder McPherson is the Pastor and Founder of the Answer Church of God in Christ in Fredericksburg, Virginia, since February 2005. The Answer COGIC is a member of the Washington D.C. Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Neavelle A. Coles, Sr. Elder McPherson is also the Administrative Assistant to the Jurisdictional Bishop, Neavelle A. Coles Sr, and the Assistant Superintendent of the Warren G. Crudup, Sr. District under the leadership of Superintendent Dwayne E. Jones.

First Lady Mavis McPherson

First Lady Mavis McPherson is the youngest of four daughters born to the late Pastor Lawrence and Missionary Evelyn Alexander in Hammond, Louisiana. She is third generation Church of God In Christ, where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

During her early childhood, she was taught to love the Lord with her whole heart and to serve the people of God. Being a PK – “preacher’s kid” - she attended Sunday School, Sunshine Band, Vocational Bible School, YPWW and all Church services. Her Mother was a firm believer in Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatever your hands find to do, do it with your might.”

Upon relocating to Texas, she joined the Prayer Tower Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Supt. Roger D. Eiland and Co-Pastor Ruth. There she served as Sunday School Teacher, Mother’s Board member, and Armour Bearer to First Lady Eiland. She also served as Jurisdictional Adjutant Sister to the Supervisor of Women for Texas Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Reginald L. Williams.

Lady McPherson received her formal education in the Tangipahoa Parish School System. She was licensed as an Evangelist Missionary in the Texas Metropolitan School of Ministry. She is also a licensed Funeral Director in the state Texas.
